Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield plan live nativity amid Election chaos

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are set to host a live nativity play on This Morning amid concerns the General Election will play havoc with schools.

With polling day for the election set for December 12, it could see many schools have their usual plans disrupted, so ITV have said they will step in with a nativity for everyone.

There has been concerns that traditional festive activities – including nativity plays and Christmas concerts – could be thrown into disarray by schools closing so that they could become polling stations.

To fill the gap. ITV have said that This Morning will step in with its own nativity play, hosted by their usual pairing of Holly and Phil.

They will be joined by "members of the extended This Morning family", according to ITV, so you might get Rylan performing Little Donkey for Christmas after all.

Children from a chosen school – Northwood Park Primary School in Wolverhampton – will also feature in the play.

"I can't wait to reignite This Morning's nativity tradition this year, it's what Christmases are made for!" Schofield said.

Holly Willoughby added: "What's Christmas without a nativity play? And the fact we get to help make a class of young children's Christmas dreams come true is the star on top of the tree."

Holly wasn't so charitable when discussing Caitlyn Jenner breaking the rules in the I'm A Celebrity camp.

The reality TV star has found herself in hot water after stealing a corn on the cob from the big roast dinner meal to give to Ian Wright.

Caitlyn could be clearly seen holding the corn in her hand before dropping it in the former footballer's hammock.

Presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly hinted there would be punishments for the contraband – and Holly, who replaced Ant on the show last year, is calling on bosses to take away all their food.

Speaking on Tuesday's This Morning, Holly insisted it was "all going to kick off" when the I'm A Celeb bosses take action.

She will be pleased to know then that the camp had a meal docked from their total, which was one by comedian Andrew Maxwell in the first individual Bushtucker Trial of the series.

This Morning's nativity play will on December 12 on ITV.
