08/28/2019

You’re about to see a whole lot more of Boston Rob, who’s returning to Survivor in a special mentoring role on Season 39, dubbed “Island of the Idols.” In this season’s big twist, Rob and two-time winner Sandra Diaz-Twine will spend 39 days on their own island, where contestants will have opportunities to mine them for advice on Survivor strategy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“In case you guys have been wondering where I’ve been… this is gonna b fun!!! This Fall!” he tweeted in July, when he shared a trailer for the upcoming season.

Whether Rob will dole out additional tips for finding a spouse on Survivor remains to be seen—though he’s certainly the resident expert. There have been a number of Survivor couples since the show first premiered 19 years ago, but none are as legendary as “Boston” Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich. The two met on the show back in 2003, and they ended up getting married and having four kids.

Here’s what you need to know about Boston Rob and Amber’s Survivor love story.
