Helen Skelton’s estranged husband Richie Myler ‘UNFOLLOWS’ her on Instagram following their split as he moves on with Stephanie Thirkill

Helen Skelton’s estranged husband Richie Myler has seemingly unfollowed his wife on Instagram following their break up.

Countryfile presenter Helen, 38, announced last month she had split from her rugby player partner, 31, after eight years of marriage.

The sports pro has since begun a new relationship with Stephanie Thirkill – the daughter of the multi-millionaire President of the Leeds Rhinos club he plays for.

And now, Richie appears to have cut ties with Helen on Instagram as a message reading ‘no users found’ comes up when her name is searched for on his ‘following’ list.

But Helen is still following her estranged husband on Instagram as her name currently appears on his list of 20,200 followers.

It is not clear whether the sports pro has unfollowed the former Blue Peter star or whether Helen has removed him from her followers.

MailOnline has contacted Richie and Helen’s representatives for comment.

It comes after Helen attended the Sports Industry Awards on Thursday in her first public appearance since announcing her split from Richie.

She took to Instagram on Friday to share behind-the-scenes snaps of herself in a stylish cream dress with ruffled detail to the front with the garment finishing just above her ankles.

She wore a pair of black heels with see-through panels to add a few inches to her stature.

The screen star carried a black bag to match her shoes with its chunky gold chain matching her statement necklace.

In one shot she posed with Ayo Akinwolere, and another saw her smiling with a group of glamorous woman inside the event, as she seemed in high spirits.

Helen was said to have hired a private investigator after she became suspicious about her husband Richie’s behaviour before their split.

A source told Mail Online how heartbroken Helen, felt ‘bewildered’ by the breakdown of her marriage to Richie, 31, who is now dating Stephanie Thirkill, 32.

They said: ‘Helen is absolutely devastated. Now she is contemplating life without him while he has moved on with his new partner.

‘Richie is insisting there was no crossover, that he began the romance with Stephanie after their marriage collapsed, but Helen feels let down. They are still married, and their baby is literally four months old.

‘She thought their marriage was safe and secure and is totally shocked by what’s happened.’

While Richie insisted there was no crossover and that he began his romance with Stephanie after their marriage collapsed, The Sun reported that Helen had suspected infidelity and got in touch with a private eye to help uncover the truth.

The outlet also revealed how she contacted Stephanie’s estranged husband, who lives in North Yorkshire, to address their relationship and the timeline surrounding it.  

A friend close to Helen told the publication: ‘The devastated presenter felt something was amiss in her relationship with Richie.

‘Hiring a private investigator was the last thing she wanted to do, but she felt she had no choice and needed to know the truth for the sake of her sanity and young family.

‘Emotions are running high and the most important thing to Helen is looking after her three children and making sure they’re OK during the difficult split.’

Helen married Richie in December 2013 and the pair have three children together.

Until the announcement of the break-up, they appeared to the outside world to have the perfect marriage, with many expressions of their devotion on social media in recent weeks.

The couple bought a £550,000 cottage on the edge of Leeds during lockdown two years ago and have spent hundreds of thousands renovating it with a beautifully appointed kitchen and huge French windows overlooking the idyllic garden.

Former Blue Peter star Helen confirmed her split from Richie on Instagram last month, writing: ‘Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple.

She added two broken heart emojis to the post shared last month with her 278K followers.

Their split came just four months after the arrival of the couple’s third child, a baby daughter.

A source close to the couple said: ‘Helen is absolutely devastated. Now she is contemplating life without him while he has moved on with his new partner.

‘Helen’s holding it together well, which is admirable given she was blindsided by his new relationship.’  

The source added: ‘Mutual friends think he’s treated her appallingly.’

Richie’s new partner Stephanie is listed as a director of two companies run by her father; Age Partnership and Advise Wise which are among a group of businesses he established to help build his considerable fortune.

She previously studied Retail Marketing Management at Leeds Metropolitan University and on a day-to-day basis, works as Marketing Executive at Age Partnership.

In 2018, she married in a lavish ceremony at Bolton Abbey, the Yorkshire estate of the Duke of Devonshire. It is believed the couple have now separated.
