Grammy Awards 2023: Lizzo, Bad Bunny and Sam Smith lead first round of performers… but there’s no word yet on whether Beyonce, Adele or Harry Styles will take to the stage

Lizzo, Bad Bunny and Sam Smith lead the first round of performers for the glittering 2023 Grammy Awards, due to be held on February 5.

About Damn Time hitmaker Lizzo, 34, will be looking to add to her three Grammy Awards as the star is nominated in a whopping five categories.

Two-time Grammy winner Bad Bunny, 28, is nominated in three categories – including Album of the Year for Un Verano Sin Ti, while four time Grammy winner Sam Smith, 30, will perform nominated hit Unholy alongside Kim Petras, 30.

The performers also set to take to the stage are Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Luke Combs and Steve Lacy – with more musical guests set to be announced in the coming days.

However, there is no word yet whether multiple nominees Beyonce, Adele or Harry Styles will take to the stage, with speculation mounting they may not even attend the ceremony, leaving fans devastated.

Beyonce leads the way with an incredible nine Grammy nods, tying the record for most nominations of all-time with a total of 88.

The 40-year-old A-lister happened to tally up the same amount of total nominations as her own husband Jay-Z at 88 while the 52-year-old mogul held the previous record of 83 and racked up another five bringing them to the same total.

Not far behind the Queen Bey were British singing megastars Adele and Harry Styles who both earned seven and six, respectively.

Rapper Kendrick Lamar had the second most nominations with eight as singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile also tied Adele with seven.

Beyonce, Adele, Harry, Kendrick, and Brandi will face off in several different categories including top honor album of the year.

The top prize features an impressive and extensive field including ABBA – Voyage, Adele – 30, Bad Bunny – Un Verano Sin Ti, Beyoncé – Renaissance, Brandi Carlile – In These Silent Days, Coldplay – Music of the Spheres, Harry Styles – Harry’s House, Kendrick Lamar – Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, Lizzo – Special, and Mary J. Blige – Good Morning Gorgeous (Deluxe).

In the same vein comes record of the year, which is awarded for a single or for one track from an album and once again the three major stars were featured including: Beyoncé – Break My Soul, Adele – Easy on Me , and Harry Styles – As It Was.

It won’t be an easy road to the top as they will be up against ABBA – Don’t Shut Me Down , Brandi Carlile Featuring Lucius – You and Me on the Rock, Doja Cat – Woman, Kendrick Lamar – The Heart Part 5, Lizzo – About Damn Time, Mary J. Blige – Good Morning Gorgeous, and Steve Lacy – Bad Habit.

The Grammy Awards will be handed out February 5, 2023 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
