Gogglebox’s Malone family have revealed their favourite moments on the show since first appearing on the series back in 2014.

Husband and wife Tom and Julie Malone gave their reflections as they attended the MEN Pride of Manchester Awards on Tuesday evening, dressed in their smartest with children Shaun and Vanessa Malone, who feature on Gogglebox with them.

Known on the show for sitting with their lovable litter of dogs as well as each other, the pair referred to their pooches and grandchild Brogen, Vanessa’s son, as they spoke exclusively to OK! at the event about their best moments.

“When Frankie and Brogen were having the chat,” Julie said.

“Brogen wasn’t even talking, Vanessa’s eldest son, he was just starting to make those ‘gaga’ noises. Everytime he did something, Frankie the dog answered him.

“They were having a conversation, it was amazing.”

Brogen first appeared on Gogglebox with his grandparents and the rest of the Malone family when he was just three years old and became an instant hit with viewers as well as Frankie the dog.

After addressing their time on the long-running Channel 4 series, Julie and Tom didn’t give much away about their future on the show, telling OK! : “We'll take it as it goes”, though they appear to be enjoying Gogglebox as much as they did when they started.

The Malone family’s appearance at the Manchester Pride Awards on Tuesday, which celebrated achievements of the city’s unsung heroes, came after Julie and Tom’s eldest son Lee got married to his partner Sarah over the weekend.

The most private member of the family — who has not appeared on Gogglebox — had an “amazing” ceremony according to mum Julie, 60, who revealed that Lee finally managed to tie the knot after an attempted three times.

“It was amazing. Absolutely amazing. That’s been put off three times because of Covid, so it was nice to finally get there,” Julie said.

She mentioned that newlyweds Lee and Sarah welcomed their first child, son Grayson, in-between waiting to get hitched, to the happiness of his grandparents.

“We had an extra guest of course, because Grayson’s been born, Lee and Sarah’s son. He’s gorgeous,” Julie added.

The mother of the groom was seen visibly emotional in a black-and-white photo posted from Lee’s wedding — and she wasn’t the only one crying at the ceremony, as husband Tom added: “I was crying all day, I couldn’t stop myself from crying.”

“He did shed a tear, he did. Don’t let him fool you,” Julie also confirmed.

The MEN Pride of Manchester Awards, in partnership with TSB, will premiere on YouTube at 7pm on Tuesday 17th May.
