Frank Ocean’s Brother Ryan Breaux Reportedly Dead At 18 Following Car Crash
08/03/2020Frank Ocean’s younger brother, Ryan Breaux, has reportedly died in a car accident.
According to a local report, the teen and his classmate Ezekial “Zeek” Bishop were both killed when a car they were in crashed into a tree and went up in flames on Sunday in Thousand Oaks, California. The young men were 18 and 20, respectively.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release that the accident occurred around 1:40 in the morning on August 2, and first responders found the Tesla that Breaux and Bishop were in fully engulfed in flames when they arrived on the scene. Investigators believe the young men were driving south near Skelton Canyon when the vehicle veered off the road and collided with a tree in the center meridian off Westlake Boulevard. The two were pronounced dead at the scene.
Speaking to KTLA about the incident, Deputy Wendell Campbell said that authorities believe speed could have been a factor in the crash:
“The speed limit is north of 45 mph. It’s a nice big stretch of road, so sometimes people do pick up speed.”
It’s not yet clear who was behind the wheel at the time of the accident or what other factors might’ve caused it. The sheriff’s department said it was waiting for the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office to notify the next of kin before officially releasing the identity of the occupants.
Still, a small group reportedly gathered near the crash site on Sunday night to pay their respects. Additionally, fans flooded social media with touching tributes to the late victims, who were both graduates of Oaks Christian High School, according to The Acorn.
A young woman named Charlotte, who appeared to be close friends with Ryan, shared a set of pics of the two together on Instagram. Along with the loving tribute, she penned this note about their friendship (below):
“I don’t even know what to say. Ryan u were one of the most incredible people I have ever known u gave me everything I could’ve ever wanted and I’m so grateful for all the memories we shared. I will love you always and forever❤️”
Pierce Brosnan‘s son Paris Brosnan also took to the social media platform to pay his respects to his late friend. He shared:
“To my brother, who was talented beyond belief, possessed a heart of gold, had an energy that was infectious, a smile & laugh that lifted everyone’s spirit, and was a loyal and authentic friend to anyone he knew. You were just getting started and ready to show the world who you were. You were a leader and you had a whole army of loyal soldiers behind you. Thank you for being there for me when I needed you most, thank you for all the wild nights, thank you for your music and all the late night studio sessions with Fray, thank you for blessing us ALL with your presence on this earth. I will carry you in my heart always. Until I see you again brother. Ryan Breaux forever & Zeek Bishop forever.”
Ocean has not yet commented on the news. However, followers also left their condolences to the Blonde singer and his family in the comments section of Ryan’s final post, which features him looking out of the passenger seat of an unidentified car window.
