First Dates waitress Laura Tott ‘lucky’ as she shares update amid coronavirus

04/16/2020

Laura Tott has shared an update with fans, after the First Dates waitress revealed she’d tested positive for coronavirus having returned to work as a paramedic amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Yesterday the TV star and medic – who became a fully registered paramedic in April last year – said she had tested positive for the deadly virus, saying she ‘kinda knew’ she had the respiratory condition.

Now she’s shared an update on social media, thanking everyone for their support while also detailing her range of symptoms.

‘Thanks so much for every single message,’ she wrote on Thursday. ‘Just wanna remind everyone that I’m fine, mild symptoms, I’m really lucky so far.’

She continued: ‘There’s so many people out there that haven’t been so lucky and my heart goes out to them.

‘Feel like I’m getting back to normal, just so tired now, so fingers crossed I’ll be back at work soon.’

Laura wrote in the caption: ‘I’ve had so many messages from people about symptoms. Everyone presents differently. Mine are pretty different to the classic cough and fever.

‘Just wanna spread awareness on the variety of symptoms. The more awareness we have the more chance we have of beating this Rona cow. And remember that not everyone that catches this dies, I know it’s a worrying time for everyone but remember how many people have survived it so far.’

She went on to detail her daily symptoms, which ranged from the telltale loss of taste and smell, to feeling dizzy and having a tight chest.

It comes after Laura yesterday shared a throwback selfie from ‘when she didn’t have coronavirus’.

‘I know I’ve been quieter on social media recently but I’ve felt like absolute rubbish. Never had any form of flu before so I’m not handling it well… Never slept so much! (sic)’.

Laura added her thanks to everyone staying at home to save lives and protect the NHS, and opened up about her early symptoms to ‘spread awareness’.

The reality star and paramedic recently commented on the weekly Thursday applause, which sees people stepping outside their home to clap for key workers across the country.

She said: ‘That applause last night was unbelievable. Something I’ll never forget. Even brought a tear to my eye!’

Yesterday the UK death toll from Covid-19 was announced as 12,868 with 98,476 testing positive.
