A tearful Kerry Katona has revealed she’s been “really missing home” during her theatre stint in Lincoln over Christmas.

“As I’m in panto, I won’t get home until Christmas Eve this year,” she told us.

The former Atomic Kitten is starring as Ugly Sister Botox in Cinderella at Lincoln’s New Theatre Royal, returning for the first time since she played the Fairy Godmother in 2016.

This year Kerry’s sharing the stage with a very special co-star – her daughter Lilly-Sue, who she shares with Brian McFadden. The teenager, who worked at the theatre’s sweet shop in 2016, is playing "Baby Botox" in the production.

But while Kerry says she’s “had a ball” in panto, she’s been hit with homesickness and can’t wait to see the rest of her brood.

Kerry is also mum to Molly, 21, her other daughter with Brian, Heidi, 15, and Max, 14, her children with Mark Croft, and eight-year-old Dylan-Jorge, whose father George Kay died from a drug overdose in 2019.

“I’ve been feeling a bit teary because I’m really missing home, so I’m looking forward to getting back,” Kerry revealed.

“But I’ve had my Lilly with me at panto as well as our panto family – and we’ve had a ball.”

Kerry, 42, and Lilly are part of an all-star line-up that includes Jake Quickendon, who will play Fairy Godmother for the first half of the run, before Strictly’s Ian Waite takes over on 26 December.

They’ll be joined by comedian Patrick Monahan, who plays Buttons.

Kerry, 42, revealed her festive plans, telling us: “We get up early on Christmas morning and I’ll film the kids opening their presents.”

She added, “I’ll be doing the cooking on the day. It’s just about being together and celebrating what a year we’ve had as a family.

“As DJ is eight, next year might be the last year she’ll believe in Father Christmas – so we’ve got to make it a good one!”

Her comments come after Kerry had a dinner date with son Max, sharing a selfie as they enjoyed a meal out together ahead of her performance

She captioned the image on her story: "Having a mum and son day @maxkatona5."

Her panto run marks the end of a great year for Kerry.

Talking about her new book Whole Again hitting the shelves on Dan Westwood’s radio show, the star, who’s engaged to personal trainer Ryan Mahoney, said she’s never felt better.

“I’m actually a little bit in awe of myself, I’m not gonna lie, Dan,” she joked.

“I feel like I’m the best I’ve been in my whole entire life. My career is going from strength to strength, I’m in a great relationship, I feel really empowered and in control.

“I’ve never met anybody quite like me. I’m definitely special edition!”
