Emily Andrea offers support to The Wanted’s Tom Parker following heartbreaking brain tumour diagnosis

Emily Andrea says Tom Parker ’s brain tumour diagnosis “puts everything into perspective” as she offers her support to The Wanted star.

Opening up about the 32-year-old’s “heartbreaking” terminal diagnosis, the doctor told OK!: “It was heartbreaking to hear that Tom Parker has been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.

“It’s unbelievably sad news and I feel for him and his wife Kelsey so much. Tom’s story has really resonated with me and it puts everything into perspective.”

Tom announced the news that he has been diagnosed with an operable brain tumour exclusively to OK! Magazine .

Emily continued: “It looks like he and Kelsey had so much support and it’s amazing that they are taking the opportunity to raise awareness of the condition when they’re going through a time of such devastating news.

“It just goes to show anything can happen to anyone at any time, no matter healthy you are or your age. Myself and Pete are sending them so much love.”

The OK! columnist went on to discuss Tom’s specific diagnosis adding: “The type of tumour Tom has is called a glioblastoma, which are often aggressive and fast growing. This means that sometimes we don’t detect them in time to give curative treatment.”

Tom revealed he has been diagnosed with a grade four glioblastoma and has already begun chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment at King’s College Hospital in London.

He and wife Kelsey have been flooded with support since they revealed their devastating news, including from Tom’s The Wanted bandmates.

Max George, also 32, shared a message with his one million Twitter followers on Tuesday evening and spoke out about the “devastating” and “scary” news Tom told the world earlier this week.

The star, who is set to compete in this year's Strictly Come Dancing, penned: “First of all… I think the bravery of Tom and Kelsey announcing their situation is incredible.

“It’s obviously a devastating and scary time… but for those who don’t know Tom I will say this. There is nothing that he has ever given up on and has never taken no for an answer.

“His heart is the size of a lions, and it is his drive and passion that has always led The Wanted and made sure we are looked after the right way.”

Max continued to call Tom his “brother,” and added to the poignant tweet: “Speaking as a brother, a friend and a band mate.. I know that you will conquer this as you have every other challenge you have ever faced.

Ending his message to Tom, Max penned: “You got this man. I love you, Kels and all the family with all my heart and I’ll be right here.”

“We are all on this journey together… and I can’t wait to get back on the stage with you and the boys and have a proper celebrations when you’re better.”
