Emilio Estevez Not Returning For ‘The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers’ Season 2 (Report)

Emilio Estevez is reportedly not going to be returning for the second season of the Disney+ series The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.

The actor reprised his role of Gordon Bombay for the reboot series, and appeared all throughout the first season.

There are two different, potential reasons as to why he won’t be returning.

According to Deadline, the studio has decided not to have him back “after weeks of back and forth with his team over the show’s Covid vaccination requirement.”

The Disney+ series, like many other productions, has adopted a mandatory vaccination policy for the cast and the crew that come in direct contact with them, and Emilio has reportedly “declined to provide assurances that he would comply with the policy” through his reps.

Other sources are also saying that creative differences could have played a role in why he’s not returning.

Season two was announced back in August and production was set to begin in early 2022.
