Elon Musk’s ex-girlfriend Grimes reveals she got a MASSIVE red tattoo running all the way up her leg… after she admitted wanting ‘elf ear’ surgery

The electronic future pop musician Grimes revealed on Thursday that she had gotten an enormous tattoo inked on her leg and thigh.

The 35-year-old singer — who rose to greater prominence after dating and then welcoming two children with Elon Musk — shared a photo of the striking red-ink tattoo to her Instagram stories.

Meanwhile, the tattoo artist, who appears to go by Daniela and seemingly did the work in Los Angeles, shared even more views of the new look to their Instagram account.

Grimes (born Claire Boucher) has added her latest body modification after previously revealing a desire to undergo surgery to give her ‘elf ears.’

For her latest change, Grimes got a design that evoked fantasy and science fiction imagery.

The tattoo featured jagged, thorn-like outcroppings in mirror image designs that somewhat resembled the inkblots from the Rorschach test.

The tattoo began just above her ankle and then continued well up past her kneecap onto her thigh.

Although the design was fairly abstract, it had an animalistic appearance thanks to claw-like edges.

The portion of the tattoo on her thigh also resembled a bony bat wing, though it was considerably stylized.

The size and intricacy of the design suggests that inking it was a lengthy process, but Grimes seemed to be in high spirits about the results.

‘V nice v nice,’ she wrote in her Insta Stories post while tagging the artist. ‘Will get a better photo when I’m free @caidasindesamparo.’

Grimes was dressed in a grungy casual style for her tattoo session with a pair of oddly shaped, baggy gray corduroy pants, a loose-fitting black graphic T-shirt, and green-toed white athletic socks.

The musician, who has recently suggested she might split royalties with any person who uses her voice in AI-generated music, already has an extensive tattoo collection.

One photo showing her opposite pant leg pulled up slightly revealed that she also has an enormous tattoo on her other leg featuring thick marks reminiscent of Japanese calligraphy. 

She has lately been open about a desire to continue modifying her body, though her posts on social media about the matter seem to indicate that she is merely looking for a change and doesn’t have many specific procedures she wants to do.

After asking fans to suggesting facial modifications to her, she noted in August of 2022 that she was set on getting ‘elf ear’ surgery, which received a disapproving reply from her ex Musk.

‘The downside of elf ear surgery probably outweighs the upside,’ he wrote, after she already expressed fears about the permanence of the procedure, as cartilage in the ears in unlikely to grow back after being operated on.

Outside of her critically acclaimed music, Grimes is best known to the general public for her former relationship with Twitter owner Elon Musk.

They began their relationship back in 2018 and reportedly connected after learning that they both came up with the same pun on Twitter. 

The ex-couple share two children, a son with the difficult-to-pronounce name X Æ A-Xii, and a daughter named Exa Dark Sideræl.

However, their son is nicknamed X and their daughter goes by Y (both pronounced like the letters).

In January 2022, she revealed that they were back together but ‘very fluid,’ while also sharing that they had welcomed Y via surrogate in December 2021.

The couple had broken up again as of March 2022

Grimes and Musk were forced to change their son’s original name, X Æ A-12, as a California law barred them from giving the child a name featuring numbers, though they the changed it to a compliant version with Roman numerals.
