EastEnders’ Dean Gaffney wants tips from Danny Dyer after becoming a grandfather

Dean Gaffney has revealed he will be calling Danny Dyer for tips after becoming a grandfather at the age of 43.

The EastEnders star shared his delight after his daughter Chloe welcomed a beautiful little girl with her partner Declan in mid-July.

While he's over the moon with the arrival of baby Mimi, it appears the soap star has decided against doing the nitty gritty work as he told The Sun on Sunday: “Anybody who saw me doing the Bushtucker trials on I’m A Celebrity knows I have the world’s worst gag reflex, so unless I’ve got a peg on my nose I’ll be leaving that to her mum and dad.”

Despite this, he is determined to be the best grandfather possible and plans on getting advice from someone who is in the same position as himself – Danny, who portrays Mick Carter in the popular BBC soap opera.

Danny's Love Island star daughter Dani, 24, gave birth to her baby boy Santiago, who she shares with now-jailed boyfriend Sammy Kimmence, in January this year.

“I’m so proud. Lots of my mates are becoming dads, but I’m a grandad at the same age," Dean went on to explain.

He continued: "The only person I know who’s in the same boat as me is Danny Dyer, who has a grandchild at 43."

Dean, who recently vowed to be the "best looking grandad in town", added: "I’ll be calling him for tips. We could do grandaddy day care together.”

The soap star gushed over the arrival of his granddaughter in a sweet post last week as he shared a gorgeous black and white photo of himself cradling her.

He captioned it: "Welcome to this crazy world, my beautiful granddaughter Mimi.

"I am very happy to announce I am a GRANDAD. I can't believe my baby is now a mother, proud is an understatement."

Dean added: "Chloe and Declan you're going to be amazing parents. X Baby Mimi, born: 07.07.2021.. 7 pound 14oz."

"Just to thank everyone in advance, I know I don't look old enough to be a father let alone a grandfather," he humoured.
