Dolly Parton Releasing First Christmas Album In 30 Years

08/15/2020

Dolly Parton is due to release her first holiday album in 30 years on October 2.

The upcoming album, A Holly Dolly Christmas, comes three decades after she released Home for Christmas in 1990.

Parton’s brother Randy, Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley Cyrus, Willie Nelson, Michael Bublé and Jimmy Fallon are featured on the album, which is a mix of Parton’s original songs as well as covers of some classic holiday favorites.

The septuagenarian country music legend told Billboard that “A Holly Jolly Christmas” by Burl Ives was the inspiration for the new album’s title.

“He used to be on all of my Christmas specials all through the years.
I think of him as Mr. Christmas. I thought, ‘Why don’t do I call it something cute and clever, like that or Deck the Halls with Boughs of Dolly, something corny like that,'” she told the entertainment magazine.
