Believe me when I say we here at Cosmo take our Expensive Taste Test veeerrry seriously. Like, I mean, we put in some time into our investigative work before we have our chosen celeb(s) play our tricky game. For this week’s episode, we had Desus Nice and The Kid Mero—aka the hilarious comedic duo of the late-night talk show Desus and Mero—put their New York City–bred palette to the test. And it got pretty intense!

If you’re a loyal fan, you know that in ETT, we give our contestants a variety of items for each round. We’ve had celebrities wash the hair of Barbie dolls to examine different shampoos and drink two types of water to see which one is the pricier one. But with Desus and Mero, we decided to stick with food products (specifically snacks) because true New Yorkers *should* be experts in this category…

Ah, a classic bodega eat: corn nuts. At first, Desus thought it would be hard to identify the bougier kind, but as soon as he tasted them, he just knew they were the ones. And Mero could tell just by the looks. An easy win for them! Next we had them munchin’ on RAW ramen noodles, and this was a breeze for them too. They were able to tell just by the seasoning. Make these guys food critics!!
