David Bowie’s former luxury flat in Sydney’s eastern suburbs sells for an eye-watering $8.8million

A spectacular sub-penthouse in Sydney’s eastern suburbs once owned by superstar David Bowie has been sold for an eye-watering $8.8million.

Located atop in the prestigious Kincoppal building in Elizabeth Bay, the three-bedroom, two-bathroom pad boasts amazing waterfront views.

The new owner is art dealer David Savill, who snapped up the prestige property after it was on the market for only 14 days reports The Wentworth Courier.

Bowie, who died in 2016 at age 69, owned the apartment between 1983 and 1992.

The legendary musician was known to have decorated the luxury flat with wrap-around mirrors in the living room and a chest-high glass shelf, which were removed after new owners made renovations.

The master bedroom, meanwhile, boasts a full ensuite including a bath tub, a large dressing room a private balcony.

Meanwhile, the resort-style apartment block boasts a concierge, a pool and private waterfront garden.

Bowie, who was based in New York in the decade before he died, used his luxury Sydney pad during his frequent visits to Australia.

The flat’s previous owner was the late Sylvia Eisman, who bought the property in 2009 for $2.95million.

Eisman is the mother of model and journalist Kathryn Eisman, the founder of High Heel Jungle Socks. 

Other famed residents of the Kincoppal apartments apart from Bowie, have included author and journalist Michael Parkinson and the Irish singer and drag-star Danny La Rue.
