Coronation Street legend Angela Lonsdale poses with The 1975 star 19 years after soap exit

Coronation Street actress Angela Lonsdale posed with The 1975 star Ross MacDonald on Wednesday night 19 years after her role on the ITV soap.

The cobbles icon, 53, who played fan-favourite Emma Watts from 2000 to 2003, had an explosive exit from the soap.

And nearly two decades later, Angela took snaps with band maestro Ross as she attended a concert on Wednesday evening (February 16).

The actress was once known for her striking auburn tresses, but now Angela rocks a brunette bob complete with a short choppy fringe.

Sharing a snap with the guitar player, Angela beamed as she posed next to one of her favourite musicians after the show.

Ross leaned in and gave the star a peck on the cheek, as Angela grinned away for the iconic selfie.

"Hope this gets me followers up. Lush to see you all at The 1975 tour," the actress captioned her post.

A slew of excited messages flooded Angela's comments as fans squealed with glee at the sight of her with one of the band members.

Former co-star and Loose Women panellist Denise Welch was one of the first to share her appreciation for the snap.

Denise, who is also the mum of The 1975 lead singer Matty Healy, joked: "The one that got away," alongside a row of laughing emojis.

Despite leaving Corrie nearly two decades ago, fans have never forgotten Angela's legendary storylines as Emma on the soap.

In particular, the character was known for her romance with loveable Weatherfield favourite Curly Watts.

The pair got married in one romantic instalment, but Angela bowed out of the soap after just three years when she moved on to a role in The Bill.

She has also starred in medical dramas Holby City, Casualty, and Doctors over the years.

Angela was most recently seen popping up on BBC One drama The Syndicate last year.

Barely recognisable from her days as fresh-faced Emma, Angela boasted heavy fake tan and an eclectic dress sense while portraying the character of dog owner Mrs Levine.

Before that, she also played Grace Lane in Our Girl.

Angela was once married to fellow soap actor Perry Fenwick, who plays Billy Mitchell on EastEnders.

The pair were once incredibly loved-up and seen as one of the strongest couples in soap, but sadly split after five years together in 2010. They share children Lucy, Isabella and Jayden.
