Carol Vorderman couldn’t help but reply to her fellow I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! contestant, Sam Quek. The Countdown legend claimed she was a “nightmare”, as the hockey star made a cheeky admission.

The 60-year-old and the Olympian, 32, both took part in ITV’s jungle reality show back in 2015.

The pair have remained firm friends ever since and regularly chat over Twitter.

And the presenter has today waded into Sam’s “c**p” statement, in relation to her pregnancy.

The latter confirmed she was expecting her first child with husband Tom Mairs back in November.

Mum-to-be Sam today took to Twitter to say what she was sad about in relation to her baby bump.

She hilariously claimed she wanted to make acquaintances awkward, if they mentioned her every-growing tum.

The athelete informed her 181,000 followers: “One c**p thing about being pregnant in Lockdown is not seeing/speaking to new people.”

The star continued: “I’d been looking forward to people meeting me and saying something like, ‘When’s it due?’

“And me replying, ‘Sorry?! Are you trying to say I look pregnant?'”

Sam then signed off: “Not had one opportunity yet,” of course referencing the pandemic and UK lockdown.

Carol quickly shared her thoughts and said it is statements like that which is why she adores her.

The mother-of-two shared in view of her own 456,000 fans: “That’s why I love this girl in my life… you’re a bl**dy nightmare.

The duo’s friendship soon became impossible to miss during I’m A Celebrity five years ago.

Their season was eventually won by Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, with Joel Dommett runner-up.

Carol was the fifth to be given the boot by viewers, with Sam leaving four days later and just missing out on the finale.

Sam confirmed last year she was six months pregnant, just weeks after a heartbreaking miscarriage.

She said she was due next month and that her and Tom knew they were having a girl.

In January 2020, Sam miscarried at 10 weeks.

The couple previously opened up about their devastating loss, in order to raise awareness and to help others facing similar heartache.
