Carol Kirkwood, 59, has returned to BBC Breakfast this morning to present the latest weather. However, the star has also addressed rumours she was leaving the show in a sweet interaction with a fan.
Carol is much-loved for her role presenting the weather on BBC Breakfast.
However, the broadcaster has opened up about rumours of her “removal”.
This comes as she returned to the breakfast news show this morning to present the latest weather updates.
Upon her return, one of her fans reached out to her on Twitter, admitting it was good to see her back.
They penned: “Good to see you on Breakfast this morning, Carol.
“So all those stories about your removal were bogus.
“Thank heavens, it wouldn’t be the same without you.
“I do hope that you will give us early notice of your departure – hopefully many years ahead.”
Carol then responded to the fan called Macca in view of her 204,000 followers.
She replied: “Thanks Macca. Indeed they were.
“No idea where they came from!!! Take good care x.”
Carol has also opened up in past interviews about vowing to fight if she was ever asked to leave BBC Breakfast.
Speaking to the Radio Times in 2018: “I’d never give up the weather on Breakfast.
“If they showed me the door I would hang on by my fingernails.
“So, as long as Breakfast wants me, I’ll be there, because I love it.”
Elsewhere, Carol has been thanking her Twitter followers for their birthday messages as she turns 59.
She wrote: “Thank you all so much for my lovely birthday wishes.
“I am being spoilt rotten (and loving it!!)
“Hope you all have a fabulous bank holiday weekend xxx.”
BBC Breakfast airs from 6am on Monday to Friday.
