Afraid to fail

Now that she’s nearly free of her conservatorship, Britney Spears has fears. “I’m afraid I’ll make a mistake,” she said in a candid Instagram post, while adding that she plans to post less on social media. Citing her 13-year conservatorship, the pop star is upset that she was essentially under her father’s control for so long, and she wishes she didn’t live in a country where such a thing can happen. “I haven’t done anything to be treated the way I have for the past 13 years!!!,” she wrote. “I’m disgusted with the system and wish I lived in another country!!” In her lengthy post, Britney also fired off a warning shot to her family, who she has been at odds with. “It’s no secret that I’ve been through it in the past … so I might have to do things a little differently from now on!!!,” she said. “Lord have mercy on my family’s souls if I ever do an interview!!! In the meantime … I’m staying clear of the business which is all I’ve ever known my whole life … which is why this is so very confusing for me!!!”

Risque revelation

Jessica Chastain isn’t afraid of showing off her birthday suit, but she wants things to be fair and equal. The actress opened up about her decision to doff clothes in HBO’s “Scenes From a Marriage,” saying she told the director of her one rule: her costar Oscar Isaac had to do the same. While on “The View,” Jessica spoke of a conversation she had with Hagai Levi, the director and writer of the series, many months ago. During that chat, she recalled telling Hagai she was fine baring it all, but she insisted “any part of my body that you show, you’re going to have to show the same with Oscar.'” In the second episode of the show, Jessica films a shower scene in which she was shown in the buff. “You see my body, so you see his body [too],” she said. Oscar, of course, sent fans into tizzy when he went full frontal during an episode, too. “You’re welcome, Twitter,” he joked.

Social media honesty

Selena Gomez is letting the world in on a little secret: she’s not the one behind her Instagram. In fact, she doesn’t have any social media on her phone. “I do all of my posts through texting my assistant and the caption that I want,” Selena told WWD. “I say that because that’s a huge, significant part of why I feel like I’ve been as healthy as I have been. I’m completely unaware of, actually, what’s going on in pop culture, and that makes me really happy. And maybe that doesn’t make everybody else happy, but for me, it’s really saved my life.” The singer, who boasts 268 million Instagram followers, said social media began controlling her thoughts and feelings and she just “snapped” three years ago. Selena was so anti-social media that she initially wanted to delete her account all together. Her team, though, convinced her otherwise. “I’m happy I didn’t [delete my accounts], because it is such a wonderful way to stay connected,” she said, “and when I do go on, it makes me happy to know that I’m just being completely honest and being true to who I am.”

“Thriving”

Armie Hammer is a changed man… for the better. The actor checked into a treatment facility nearly six months ago for drug, alcohol and sex addiction treatment. He’s still there, and TMZ reports he’s “thriving.” Despite being at the Florida facility, the actor has been in constant contact with his kids and family, and he’s continuously updating them on his progress. The webloid said there is no timeline for when Armie will leave the treatment center. “He was in an incredibly dangerous place before treatment and doesn’t want to backslide,” the report said, adding that Armie is “willing to do whatever it takes” to get better.

Concert fall

Vince Neil likely broke several ribs after falling off the stage during a concert on Oct. 15. The former Motley Crue frontman was performing at a Tennessee music festival when he didn’t see a gap between the speaker and the stage. Vince, who was just a couple songs into the set, fell four feet onto concrete and had to be helped up. He was then taken to a hospital via ambulance. TMZ reported that the rocker is in pain, but he’s alert and expected to be okay.

Settlement talk

Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox have reached a settlement in their divorce, and a judge is likely to sign off on the agreement very, very soon. Brian and Megan did not have a prenuptial agreement, TMZ says, so anything acquired during their 10-year marriage will be split in half. Further, the exes will share joint legal and physical custody of their three sons, which they already agreed to do. The report states that Megan will also have her name restored from Megan Green to Megan Fox. The duo had an up-and-down romance for over a decade, as they got engaged in 2006 but ended the engagement three years later. In 2010, they got re-engaged and married. Then, in 2015, she filed for divorce, but withdrew the papers in 2019. In November 2020, she again filed for divorce. This time it stuck. For what it’s worth, both Megan and Brian have already moved on and appear to be in pretty serious relationships.

Scary-good romance

They say you can tell a lot about a person if you travel with them, especially in referring to couples. For Ant Anstead and Renee Zellwegger, things are going scarily well. While chatting with Entertainment Tonight, the “Celebrity IOU: Joyride” host said he was just in New Orleans with his lady love and they did a ghost tour. “I am fascinated by history. I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes down to it, so Renee and I did one of those ghost tours,” he said. “Bear in mind I am from London, where there’s very old history, but wow, pirates, voodoo, all of it.” Ant is again back in New Orleans with Renee, who’s currently filming a movie there. “She’s a good traveler and she’s been to that city before, so it’s nice,” he said.
