Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert: Signs Their Relationship May Have Been Doomed from the Start

11/17/2019

It has been over four years since Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton’s marriage ended in divorce. Despite having it all — money, fame, and successful careers — the pair separated in 2015 after four years of marriage. While things didn’t work out for the country duo, there were signs that their relationship was doomed from the start. Here’s a quick look at why Lambert and Shelton were not meant to be together.

Early signs of trouble for Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert

When they tied the knot in 2011, Shelton and Lambert became one of country music’s most powerful couple. But below the facade of their perfect union was some serious obstacles they could not overcome.

For starters, they faced a lot of cheating rumors during the early years of their marriage. In 2013, for example, Shelton publicly addressed the reports that he was in a secret love affair with Cady Groves.

In light of all the cheating talk, Shelton and Lambert were veryproactive in combating the reports. They even joked about breaking up inmultiple interviews, and Shelton confessed that he is super open with Lambertto avoid any suspicions.

“[I tell Miranda], ‘I have nothing to hide from you.’ That’salways been our policy: ‘Here’s my phone. Go through it’…” Blake Sheltonshared. “That’s really the kind of trust we have…There are no secrets.[I’ll say], ‘Go dig through my drawers or my computer if you feel like you needto.’”

Unfortunately, nothing they did put a stop to the rumors. With the never-ending speculation, an inside source claimed that they began to suffer from trust issues. It did not help that their busy schedules prevented them from spending time together, something that only drove them further apart.

Shelton and Lambert’s success made things worse

Prior to tying the knot, Shelton and Lambert were rising stars inthe country music scene, but they were hardly as popular as they are now. Thatall changed when they got married and witnessed a huge boost in their careers.

For Shelton, he was offered a spot on NBC’s new singing competition The Voice. The role was a huge opportunity for Shelton as it gave him a much wider audience and a consistent paycheck.

The only problem is that Blake Shelton was forced to film The Voice for months on end in Los Angeles, which took time away from Lambert, who was touring the country performing in front of thousands.

According to E!Online, the two tried to combat their busy schedules by promising toalways see each other at least every two weeks — a vow that they foundincreasingly impossible to keep.

They were ultimately incompatible

At the end of the day, one of the biggest reasons things did notwork out is because Shelton and Lambert are completely different people.

As fans of The Voice are well aware, Blake Shelton loves to joke around and has a great sense of humor. Lambert, on the other hand, is more of a serious person and views the world in a much different way than Shelton.

A year before their breakup, Lambert admitted that Shelton hastaught her how to have fun. She also confessed that she does not look at theworld through rose-tinted glasses, which is pretty much the opposite ofShelton.

“Blake’s the happiest person on the planet. He pulls me outof my darkness… Literally, everything is the best about being married,”Lambert explained.

Did Gwen Stefani come between Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert?

Considering how Shelton and Stefani sparked up a romance shortlyafter he broke things off with Lambert, there have been rumors that the NoDoubt alum had something to do with the split.

Talks of a romance between Shelton and Stefani surfaced when theywere both still married. Although the two pursued a relationship once they weresingle, there has been no evidence to suggest they did anything to compromisetheir previous marriages.

In fact, Stefani ended her marriage to Gavin Rossdale amid rumors that he cheated on her. Rossdale, who shares three children with Stefani, has denied the cheating allegations, though Stefani has alluded to the affair in previous interviews.

Whatever happened, both Shelton and Lambert have since moved onto successful relationships. Lambert tied the knot with Brendan McLoughlinearlier this year while Shelton is still dating Stefani.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have faced quite a few engagement rumors over the years, though they have yet to make anything official. That could change in the coming months, however, as sources claim they are close to making that big commitment.
