Ashley Cain has marked what would have been the 11-month birthday of his late daughter Azaylia’s with a heartbreaking message.

The former Ex On The Beach star, 30, and his girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee, 34, lost their first child together in April after she battled a rare form of leukaemia.

Sharing a video of Azaylia sitting in her hospital bed, the television personality wrote on Instagram: ‘To have thought we would’ve been celebrating 11 months of your life today has taken my legs from underneath me.

‘But watching this video and realising that no matter how tough our day was, we could always smile has made me want to try and smile for you today princess, because I know you will be looking down from heaven and smiling for me.

‘Happy heavenly 11 months Azaylia, you were and always will be the light and the love of my life!’

Reality star Ashley has been documenting his grief on social media and on Friday shared a video of a tattoo he got as a tribute to his child, who died when she was eight-months-old.

The clip, set to Ed Sheeran’s song Photograph, showed tattoo artist Uzzi Canby filling in an orange heart above the ‘i’ in Azaylia’s name.

‘Azaylia’ was written across the left side of his neck, beneath an angel wing, while on the right hand side of Ashley’s neck, he got the face of a lion with bright blue eyes.

Ashley and his girlfriend Safiyya Vorajee referred to their daughter as a ‘little lion’, and they had a Lion King themed procession for Azaylia at her funeral.

The reality star captioned the video: ‘My Angel, My Likkle Lion, My Azaylia. ???

‘Thank you @uzzi_canby & @pash_canby you’ve really created something special. ??✨ My number 1 forever and always! #Azaylia #DaddysGirl.’
