The Chasers Road Trip: Anne says she was ‘thrown as a baby’

Anne Hegerty, 62, has taken to Twitter to address the reaction to her cleavage-baring swimsuit, which she sported on The Chaser’s Road Trip: Trains, Brains And Automobiles. It comes after The Governess star was seen swimming with dolphins on the ITV show, which followed her travels around America alongside her The Chase co-stars Mark Labbett and Shaun Wallace.

The star’s revealing swimsuit was unveiled when she removed her life jacket in order to swim more easily.

She addressed her busty look after one viewer cheekily compared her cleavage to the Mitchell brothers, Phil and Grant, from EastEnders (played by Steve McFadden and Ross Kemp).

The mischievous Twitter user penned: “Looks like Ann’s got the Mitchell brothers down her swimsuit! #TheChasersRoadTrip.”

Fortunately, Anne took the comment in good humour, as she retweeted it in view of her 147,000 followers.

The Chaser showed her appreciation for the comment, as she shared a crying with laughter emoji.

Anne previously apologised for her swimsuit look on the series while discussing her adventures with Shaun and Mark on This Morning.

Host Phillip Schofield asked: “One of the things Anne looked like you might have enjoyed is the dolphins.”

Anne explained in response: “Yeah, it wasn’t so much the dolphins I just enjoy swimming and open water.

“I’m sorry everyone had to see me in a [swimsuit], it was not a bikini.”

A clip then played showing Anne in the water with a life jacket on.

She quipped while the moment aired: “And that’s me saying, ‘Can I please take the life jacket off?’”

Anne also admitted that taking part in the ITV show was a bit of a “stretch” for her, as she doesn’t feel the need to be very sociable due to her Asperger’s syndrome.

She said: “It’s not really the sort of thing that I would have expected to do.”

Shaun said filming the show was “exhilarating”.

However, he added: “Mark’s driving was a bit suspect at times, but that was because he was driving an RV on roads he wasn’t familiar with.”

Mark then quipped: “They said you’re driving it and only gave me a few minutes in a parking lot and said go for it!'”

The quizzers also put their wits to the test against Kanzi, a Bonobo ape, who is able to communicate with humans using pictures and symbols on a Lexigram.

Speaking about the challenge, Mark recalled: “Kanzi is like the Einstein of the primate world, he’s been doing pictograms all his life and we had thirty minutes to learn all of these images which was quite hard.

“I think he got 30 out of 30, and I think we got 16 or 17, each of us.”

Anne added: “Kanzi has been learning these symbols for years and years and we only had half an hour.”
