The Chase brainbox Anne Hegerty, 62, has revealed that she once found herself flirting with former boxer, David Haye. David, 40, appeared on the celebrity edition of the ITV quiz show back in 2014.

I just felt that his prettiness should be communicated to him.

At the time, Anne, whose nickname is The Governess, was left blushing when her celebrity crush appeared in front of her.

Westminster-born Anne rarely crumbles under the pressure of the intense playoff rounds as she attempts to outrun avid quizzers.

However, when David appeared on the programme, she was left feeling flustered as she came face-to-face with her celebrity crush.

When she faced David on the show, she revealed she wanted to “lick him”.

In a new interview, Anne has recalled the moment with the former heavyweight.

When probed about their encounter, Anne said: “Well, let’s face it, some people are just pretty.

“I just felt that his prettiness should be communicated to him.”

Despite her love for David, Anne went on to tell metro.co.uk that she often freezes when she faces a sports question: “I’m really not great on sport.

“The only sport I really do quite like to watch is tennis.

“If I knew as much about all sports as I do on tennis, I’d be but I still wouldn’t be very good.”

Three years after the initial episode aired on ITV, Anne took to Twitter saying: “Given the sex-pest panic engulfing the U.K. and USA right now,

“It’s incredibly fortunate that I DIDN’T lick, David Haye, all over.”

After Anne informed the former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star that she wanted to “lick” him, David cheekily admitted that if she managed to get some questions wrong, he may allow her to do so.

Unfortunately for both, David and co-quizzer actress Laila Morse lost out in the final chase, having scored seven correctly answered questions.

After impressing ITV and production bosses, Anne secured a role presenting her own quit show, Britain’s Brightest Family and the celebrity spin-offs.

Anne said it’s “nice” she hasn’t “got to answer difficult questions” while taking part.

“On The Chase, there’s always this feeling of, ‘Oh no, today is the day I get found out.

‘Today is the day when they put a whole load of really tough questions in the final Chase on subjects I don’t know about and I look like an idiot.’”

The quizzer went onto explain how she likes being part of Britain’s Brightest Family because the show is all about her.

“It’s nice that the producer will come to my dressing room beforehand and say, ‘Hi, how are you? Is everything OK?’ I mean, God knows that doesn’t happen on The Chase,” she said.
