Amanda Holden’s daughter Hollie, 8, claims Simon Cowell has split from girlfriend Lauren Silverman

Amanda Holden's daughter Hollie, eight, has caused confusion as she claimed Simon Cowell and his girlfriend Lauren Silverman have split after seven years together.

Radio Heart presenter Amanda was hosting an Instagram Live session with her 1.4 million followers, telling her fans about a recent trip to 60 year old Simon's house when little Hollie made the revelation.

The 49 year old, who recently praised the NHS after reliving the heartbreak of losing her son Theo, explained that Simon invited her round to his house to play him her NHS charity single, Over The Rainbow.

She said: "I did play the album to Simon because Simon was very kind and he invited me to come and sing on Britain's Got Talent live shows, which I still will do whenever that is.

"But I thought I'll take it round and have a cup of tea and see what he thinks. I don't know why I did that – it was one of the most nerve-wracking things I have ever done in the whole of my life.

"It was like the opening night of a West End show."

Later, when the star mentioned she'd had some homemade biscuits by Simon's chef Jeff, Hollie jumped in quickly to ask whether he's still there during lockdown.

Amanda answered: "Lauren, Simon's girlfriend, sent me some lovely pictures of them cooking together the other day. Simon's quite good at cooking I think. So I think they won't have a chef now."

Confused, Hollie then asked: "I thought they broke up?"

To which her mum hurriedly answered: "Simon and Lauren? Don't be stupid!" before continuing on with her story.

Simon and 42 year old Lauren have been together since 2013 and share six year old Eric together.

The pair are currently living together in lockdown in California with their son and Lauren's 14 year old son Adam, from a previous relationship.

A source denied the split claims as they told The Sun Online: "This was just a case of a kid being a kid; getting muddled up and getting things completely wrong."

And Simon's spokesperson confirmed they're stronger than ever as they told MailOnline: "Simon and Lauren are very much still together and are in lockdown together in California."

The music mogul has previously spoken out about raising a child with Lauren, explaining that it's brought so much joy into his life.

Speaking to the Daily Star, he said: "Eric is absolutely incredible and so funny. It [being a father] is the best thing that ever happened to me."
