Alex Scott: ‘Must be watching a different dance’ James Jordan hits out at Strictly star

James Jordan has dished his opinions on the current Strictly Come Dancer competitors and was especially critical of former professional football player Alex Scott. During an interview he said that he believes the judges have been too lenient in their scoring of her.

Speaking to Hello! Magazine, he said he didn’t know why the Strictly judges were giving Alex such high scores.

He said: “I do feel that Alex was slightly overmarked. I don’t know what it is, I just don’t think she’s as good as the judges say.

He went on to critique her “frame” which he believes the judges have been overly complimentary about.

He continued: “I must be watching a different dance to the judges when they comment and say her frame is good because I don’t see it!”

“If that’s a good frame I must have been learning the wrong thing for over 30 years!”

However, he did note that it must be tough for Alex, as she has had to accept a new Strictly pro dancer partner after Neil Jones suffered a serious injury.

Replaced by Kevin Clifton, James admitted that this must be ‘difficult.’

He explained: “Of course it’s difficult when your partner is injured, I think if anything she’s at a disadvantage because she probably has Neil choreographing and yet she’s dancing with Kevin, so it’ll be confusing.”

Despite Jordan’s critiques, Alex was praised by her last Strictly performance and how well she performed with her stand-in partner Kevin Clifton.

She received a seven from Craig Revel Horwood, and an eight from Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Bruno Tonioli.

Neil was forced to pull out of the live show last weekend just 45 minutes before the episode went live – and Kevin was apparently the first available pro dancer to take his place.

Craig Revel Horwood has made it clear that he believes Alex Scott’s dance performances have improved since she partnered up with Kevin.

This week he took a scathing swipe at Neil Jones.

He said to Alex: “I felt we saw you for the first time tonight I really do.

“And I have to say this accidental partnership is working wonders.”

While Most Mabuse simply praised her overall dance improvements.

She said: “Honestly I’m falling in love more and more with your dancing it’s been such an amazing journey.

“There’s a huge improvement but in everything, the quality of your movement, your performance, your posture.”

Meanwhile James is expecting his first child with wife and fellow former Strictly dancer Ola.

He has joked about putting on “sympathy” weight during her pregnancy, and recently shared how he struggled to find a suit that fit him for the Pride of Britain Awards.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One at 7pm.
