A Place In The Sun presenter Jonnie Irwin, 47, is usually seen helping others secure their dream home overseas on the Channel 4 show, but has recently been focusing on his own renovation at his property in Highgate, London. The host brought in the help of professionals to transform the house, who he praised in his latest post.

The Channel 4 star shared before and after snaps of his home extension, which has been plastered and painted blue.

Giving a glimpse inside, he showed fans his plastered walls ahead of showcasing the final result.

Showing fans the kitchen, the desirable, spacious room consisted of fresh white walls, black worktops and shiny wooden floors.

In view of his 20,000 followers, he wrote: “Here’s some before and after shots of my place in London.

“Personally I’m not the best at decorating and just couldn’t get down to London in this lockdown to do any work to this project.

“I’ve learnt in the past not to scrimp when it comes to decorating as the finish is the first thing prospective tenants and buyers see.”

Praising the team that helped renovate his property, he added: “They were totally professional all the way through, and left the place even cleaner than when they started.

“The place looks mint. It’s a minefield finding good tradesmen sometimes so when I get great service then I’m always happy to shout about it.

“Props too to @mccloskey_build for the plastering- reliable as ever. Thanks lads.”

Many of his fans flocked to his post to comment on the renovation.

One user wrote: “Looks great. Really happy memories.”

A second commented: “Wow! Looks fantastic.”

“Love the external colour and your floor,” a third penned.

The post was also liked by his A Place In The Sun co-star Laura Hamilton.

Despite showing fans his London property, the presenter is believed to be living in Newcastle with his wife and three sons.

Jonnie regularly gives fans an insight into his family life on social media.

Just last week, he shared a picture of his adorable baby twin sons smiling for the camera.

Giving an update about parenthood, he wrote: “The smiles and gurgling coming from these boys suggests they haven’t got stinking colds and weren’t up all night.

“The faces on the adults in the house suggests that they have and they were. #twins #3under2 #identicaltwins.”

A Place In The Sun continues today at 3pm on Channel 4.
