The Timeless Fragrance Everyone Needs This Spring

The Timeless Fragrance Everyone Needs This Spring

04/27/2021

Spring is in full bloom — which means it’s time to break out your floral patterned clothes (it’s not groundbreaking, but we can’t be bothered after a year in quarantine) and lightly scented perfumes. This year, that means dousing ourselves in the floral fragrance that’s officially one of InStyle’s Best Beauty Buys of 2021: Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum.

The layerable fragrance, which features notes of rangoon creeper, jasmine buds, and tuberose, attempts to recreate the scent of a budding garden of fresh blooms. It’s a rich, but not overly sweet, ode to white-floral scents that lingers delicately on your skin.

“After testing over 50 new launches this past year, I've turned into a scent snob and I'm not mad at it,” InStyle beauty director Maya Allen explains of the winning decision. “My nose tends to gravitate towards intoxicating notes that boost my mood while working from home. [This one] passed the test."

InStyle’s beauty editor Erin Lukas echoes Allen. She helped pick this year’s winners, including Gucci Bloom: “This floral Gucci scent makes me feel like I’m sitting in a gorgeous garden full of fresh blooms, while in reality, I’m working from home on my couch.”

Whether you're inside on the couch or at an outdoor picnic with friends, reviewers on the internet also rave about the scent’s long-lasting wear. Loyal fans say they’ve purchased multiple bottles of the jasmine-forward perfume, which comes in multiple sizes and prices depending on your preference. It even has over 46,000 “loves” on Sephora.

“I received a free sample of this and bought a bottle soon after,” one five-star reviewer wrote. “I feel so feminine wearing this scent, and I always get compliments! It is like a fresh bouquet of flowers — absolutely lovely, and the most gorgeous balance of scents like I’m lying in a meadow.”

And bonus: The fragrance comes in a chic, minimalist powder-pink bottle with a floral-decorated box that can easily be re-used as a storage box around your house.

The first scent from creative director Alessandro Michel, Gucci Bloom’s 2017 unveiling campaign included celebs like actress Dakota Johnson, model Hari Nef, and artist Petra Collins. Four years later, it remains a beloved, timeless (and award-worthy) scent.
