Elizabeth Banks’s Blunt Bob Is Proof of How Versatile the Haircut Actually Is

Elizabeth Banks has had some of the most memorable hair looks in movie history. (Who could forget her voluminous pastel-colored hairstyles from the Hunger Games trilogy?) IRL, the actress’s hair may not be as vibrant, but her styles are equally as inspiring. Take her latest hair change — her blunt bob haircut — as an example.

“New length and waves for my lady @elizabethbanks,” hairstylist Mark Townsend said in his new Instagram post about the look he gave the actress. He revealed that the short chop was created prior to her recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

If you’ve been looking for a reason to cut your hair short for Fall, Banks’s new look might be the nudge you need. Her blunt bob is proof that the cut is actually so versatile, as Banks has already worn her hair in waves and what hairstylist Devin Toth calls the 2019 version of the asymmetrical bob.

Toth previously told POPSUGAR a sneaky way to fake the haircut, which is cut short on one side. “The modern take on this style is to have a perfectly balanced, even, and blunt bob and then tuck one side behind the ear,” he said. “When it’s behind the ear, it will visually look shorter and asymmetrical.”
