Chrissy Teigen Just Rubbed Aloe Vera Straight From The Plant All Over Her Face

  • Chrissy Teigen has a new natural skin solution and shared all about trying it on Instagram stories.
  • The Bring the Funny judge used a bit of aloe vera straight from the plant to treat red patches on her face.
  • Chrissy also said she’s had numbness in her facial muscles, but hasn’t discussed a cure for that symptom, yet.

Chrissy Teigen is known for being, let’s just say, an open book (like, wide open). Recently, she took Twitter and Instagram to discuss a few of her latest ailments and new home remedies. It seems the star has been dealing with “red blotchies” on her skin and is trying some new skincare hacks to deal with it.

The 33-year-old model and author’s solution isn’t an expensive cream or crazy treatment, it’s a down-to-earth fix—literally. Chrissy followed hairstylist Priscilla Valles’ advice to try an aloe vera plant to solve her recent skin woes. And, in true Chrissy fashion, the unofficial queen of social media filmed herself using her new all-natural product, sharing the footage in an Instagram story.

In the video, Chrissy has a piece of the aloe vera plant in her hand. She squeezes the plant and puts the, ahem, goop from inside right on her face. Then, she smoothes it all over her “little red blotchies” on her cheeks and around her nose. (Btw, aloe has another star fan in Drew Barrymore, who has used the plant on blemishes.)

Good news for Chrissy, aloe vera totally worked for Drew, and many others. “In Ayurvedic medicine, aloe is often used to treat inflammatory skin conditions, like psoriasis, acne and eczema,” Lauren Fine, MD, a board-certified dermatologist at Chicago Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology, previously told Women’s Health.

Fingers crossed aloe does the trick for Chrissy, since she’s been dealing with more than just skin blotchies this week. She also hopped on Twitter (okay, she basically lives there) to respond to fans who noticed her talking differently in a recent episode of Bring the Funny.

She mentioned odd sensations she occasionally has on her face. She tweeted: “every once in a while for no reason, I get panicky/anxious and the muscles in my or half my face get numb. I remember apologizing so much during filming this episode. it usually feels worse than it looks or sounds (not this time apparently haha)”

that is so funny you noticed! every once in a while for no reason, I get panicky/anxious and the muscles in my or half my face get numb. I remember apologizing so much during filming this episode. it usually feels worse than it looks or sounds (not this time apparently haha) https://t.co/foHQpFdUPN

Sounds concerning, but Chrissy says her sensations aren’t Bell’s Palsy, which is a form of facial paralysis that results from damage or trauma to the facial nerves, according to the National Institutes of Health.

I honestly thought it was – I have a friend who had BP and it was for months non-stop. mine comes on for a few hours, randomly. usually just half my mouth and face tingles and I do a kind of snarl-face. nothing makes it better so I just breathe and try to be normal haha https://t.co/njTsOFpCzS

The condition’s symptoms are similar to Chrissy’s though, and can include twitching, weakness, or temporary paralysis on one or both sides of the face according to the NIH.

Chrissy seems to have found one solution, and, with her Twitter fans on the case, another one can’t be far away.
